tHaNK God itS tHE weeKeNd!!!

What a week!!
The Chinese translated brochures for Admission Interviews finally came in! WE FINALLY HAVE SOMETHING IN CHINESE!!! I FINALLY HAVE SOMETHING TO WORK WITH!!! ALTHOUGH...! We really REALLY need more than just that ONE miserable brochure. Like, honestly!!! I have nothing else in the Chinese Language...!! Prospectus, banners, flyers for roadshows, Website (still can't freaking believe our site is not available in other languages!!) and whatnots... keeping all my fingers AND TOES crossed that Management sees how desperately we need more/different/variety (??) of materials to work with! Come to think of it, it's not just Simplified Chinese materials we need...! What about Bahasa Indo? Vietnamese? Traditional Chinese for the HK and TWN market? errm..... Tamil?? hurhurhur!! i mean, pulllleazzze!! If these are our important/biggest/most targeted markets, we really SHOULD be thinking of ways to reach out and convince them to come to us. Agree?
There's supposedly a meeting Mon. to try work on getting more Chinese materials for the Oct. fairs in China. Please, please, PLEASE boss! Give me something to work with ok? Or ALL those meetings and calls and emails with the Chinese agents will come to NOTHING cos they are still gonna feel we're not sincere in helping them help US! aiyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaa!!! Look at me! So frustrated with this whole issue i'm not even writing sensibly!!! Argh!! Stop girl, just S.T.O.P.!!
Okok. 'nuff of this whole lang./materials issue.
College orientation 31 Jul.
International students orientation 1 Aug.
I LOVE THE SIGHT OF THE CAMPUS PACKED WITH PEEPS!!! OH SO FULL OF LIFE!!!
So reminded of my own orientations back in UNSW - damn packed with peeps... everyone (well, ALMOST everyone... there are always some ya-ya-papaya peeps who turn their noses/backs on everything and everyone else eh?) eager to make friends... games, music, dance, food... =))) Argh!!! I miss Uni!!! I miss SYD!!! I MISS MY LIFE BACK THERE!!!
Oh i digress.
So.
Orientation.
DSS did a fab' job i think. For huge-ass events like these, you can't sweat the small stuff can you? So yea... i think it was good =)))
I had two lovely girls - Jane and Colleen, ushering with me on City Court side of the Campus. Oh so sweet those two were. How nice to still be young and innocent and 'foreva 18'...!! ENVIOUS!!! They do say the sweetest things those girls.
Got roped in last min for a couple of group campus tour thingy. Ah well, like i said, there's always a couple of those ya-ya-papaya peeps in any given situation eh? Pfft! I managed to get some of those, unfortunately!! But hell, who cares abt them??!!! If you can't find your tut. pod come Mon. don't come ask directions from me =P If you're so high-n-mighty and smart-alecky, and decided to yak away on your mobile while i was conducting the tour and pointing out what's where, it's like, TOTALLY YOUR PROBLEM YOU LOSE YOUR WAY AND GET TO CLASS LATE MON. sheeesshh!!
On the otherhand, there were some really nice new students =))) Some, i've been corresponding with via email since their initial application process stage.... some we met when they walked into our Enquiries Counter... then there are those like Jo-ting who meets me for the first time and goes, "你也是台湾来的吗? (You from TWN too?)" and we just start yakking away like 'ol friends. Haha!! But no, i'm not from TWN. Although i get this Qn so often now (if it's not TWN, it's CHN... or KOR!!! wOOoooo!!) i'm no longer surprised.
During lunch, helped DSS with the serving of food cos there weren't enough student volunteers at one pt of time. No it's certainly not part of my job... but it was fun! Weaving through the crowd with big silver plates of bite-size sandwiches and choc eclairs... watching the kids' faces lit up when they see food!! Haha! Some of them were so freaking starving! They were sOOooo appreciative to being served food, and they show it! Ah... all these serve as 'lil reminders to why i love CS and the hospi-line. Ha!
Having to be at work 730 that day... THAT PART i din like =P was like, totally stoning thoughout dinner at Bugis with Sharon, Vanessa, Emily, Red.
Fri. outing to the Museums and to Clarke Quay with the International Students was pretty fun. Those kids were such a loud bunch!!! The staff at Royal Selangor had to remind us to keep our voices down when we were there having kaya toast and coffee. Argh! You lot!! Not embarrassed eh? Louder than the sec. sch students who were out on their own sch excursions boy...!!! tsktsktsk.
=)))
But it was all good fun.
BUT I AM SO TIRED AFTER IT ALL!!! I slept at 12 last night; wokeup at 8. I'M STILL TIRED!!! ROARSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
THANK GOD ITS THE WEEKEND!!!
I'm off to Novena.
I need my 'me, myself and God' time.
Good wkn ya' all!!
