Wedding-Related: Photography

Our search for actual day photographers started... a couple of months ago.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
We've all heard that before haven't we?
While the Boy and i both agreed we wanted to have a good set of photos to keep, we were definitely not going to pay through our noses for it.
We shouldn't have to anyways!
Not as long as we did our homework early =P
Also, i think it helps that we both agreed on what we wanted (or not wanted), i.e. photos in digital formats over hardcopy (physical) albums, a casual (no need to dress OTT!!!) engagement shoot, no extravagant overseas shoots (what?! i rather spend all that money on a good trip with my dear!)...
So.
We started research on photographers first by getting recommendations from and contacts of people we knew.
We viewed and re-viewed heaps of online galleries including:
--- chrisppics.com
--- darrenf.com
--- huefusion.com
--- mindytan.com
--- montagestudios.com.sg
--- simonvideo.com.sg
We got quotations from those we felt had the kind of photos we wanted, and pored over them for weeks, making comparisons and working out our budgets.
It's all very exciting really.
We must have read through hundreds of forum reviews on photographers used by other couples, and spend many nights online viewing those photo galleries.

For our Civil Marriage Ceremony (ROM in Singapore on Nov 22, 2010), we asked for AJ to join us @ the ROM office to take pictures.
She agreed to.
Even though it meant taking time off from her full-time work.
For that, WE ARE TRULY APPRECIATIVE AND GRATEFUL!!!
AJ also helped us out on an Engagement/Pre-wedding Photoshoot here in Singapore =)
It was all very casual and fun!
We decided on a day (Nov 13, 2010), picked out a few spots where we wanted to take piccies at(Esplanade, T2 / T3, the Library...), and then went about shooting piccies!
And because AJ's a friend, it made things so much easier (imho at least).
We didn't have a fixed time to keep to.
We could just go with the flow, making decisions on places to head to and props we came across...
At the end of the day, tired as we were, the Boy and i decided it had been a really, really fun Saturday out with her.

As of today, we've confirmed Darren (of darrenf.com) as our main photographer for the big day here in Singapore.
Pending now:
--- a Pre-wedding Photoshoot in Malaysia (once we confirm a Bridal Studio to sign with).
--- a second photographer for Nov 12.
--- a photographer for the events happening over in Malaysia on Nov 20.
What's next?

*Will post a couple of Pre-wed and ROM photos when i get them in the next week or two.
