done with the urgent mails and not up for the rest of the mails.
2more days to go.
just a couple more meetings.
looking forward to hooooome!
not looking forward to the huge-ass mountain of work to be done back in the office.

of this place.
after just one week here.
it's the food - too oily. too salty. too heavy with sauces. too 'jelat'.
it's the weather - terrible air pollution. grey skies all day. dusty dusty dust.
it's the people - loud. rude. spiting everywhere. not queuing up for anything. pushing. standing waaaaaaay too close to me.
it's the traffic - the car honks that sound non-stop. the none-observance of traffic lights. the absolute madness on the roads!!!
it's... i duno, everything?
third city today.
three down, three more to go.

everytime i heard someone making that horribly disgusting sound "aaaarrrrk..." i brace myself for what is to come next...."puiiiiii"

UGH!!! disgusting disgusting DISGUSTING!!!

i honestly do NOT understand why the hell they HAVE to spit.
EVERYWHERE!

- the cab driver ferrying us to the hotel would just spit out the window while driving
- the street hawker! ugh (*1000000000)!!! he would be cooking up a storm on his little makeshift stall, and then he's just go "puiiiiiiiiiii" into the walkway
- the men and women walking in front of us would like spit as and when they feel like it
- the cyclist going by would do an "aaaaarrrkkk puiiii" right in front of us while we stand at the traffic lights

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!! it is just so freaking horribly!

why do they do it??!!! oh i do hope they choke on their own spit (or something like that). bah!!

i watched as she glided across the rink.
she in her pretty pink and beige outfit.
arms stretched at shoulder-level.
head held high.
that look of pure concentration and determinance on her little face.

her coach glided rd her.
words of encouragement coming from him every other 15 seconds or so it seemed.
he is ever-smiling, strict with her - repeatedly going "watch those arms (in Mandarin)", but the warm words of praise come everytime she makes a perfect turn.
when she falls, he is there in an instant to help her up.

her mother stands by the side of the rink.
she never once took her eyes off her daughter i think.
the minute she comes towards her, the mother is ready with bottle of water and peck on her forehead.
i imagine she must be speaking words of praise and encouragement to her too.
for the next minute, she is off towards the centre of the rink again.

and it goes on...
and on...
and on...

i spent a good 20 odd minutes just staring down at them from one floor up.

she's barely 5! 6 max!!

yet all that practice she's going through...
that's one of the things i truly admire about the people here.
if there's sth they want, they go all out to make sure they get it ultimately.
one way or another.

in this case, practice makes perfect i guess.
oh, and start young! whatever it is you want to strive excellence in. gotta stay young!

one day we might see this sweet lil thing on intl ice-skating comp.s
never know eh?

barely a month after the last trip here, im back in Beijing.
again.
third time since... July.
oh wow!
i'm beginning to feel like daddy!

*i realised i totally missed updating abt the last China trip. and the Norway trip i started but never moved beyond Day1. pfft!!

we stayed at this cool boutique-ish hotel - Hellsten.

i was upgraded to a Double room on the top floor :)))

the cool looking place had lobby lounges like THIS!

v homely.

filled with antique-ish, artsy, boutique-ish stuff.

went sightseeing on Sunday.

visited the Vasa Museum.

i took v few pics. cos my camera not pro leh... take pictures in the dark, they all turn out damn bad. muahaha!

saw many many more grand old buildings, rich in archi and history.
