day #6 in Seoul...

hooookays.
i have to write this down in black and white here so i'll remember this wonderful shopping trip (oh yes there was work too of cos. but i IS great at picking up barang at every chance that i have! woohoo!!).
oh. and this entry is also to make known to all my promise to the Boy (i IS serious. i can stop shopping for the next... 2 months/until Christmas shopping starts) :p
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
six days.
five pairs of shoes.
very many dresses and tops.
an entire luggage (I KID YOU NOT!) of my favourite skincare and makeup products.
a couple of hundred bucks worth of accessories.
plenty of kimchi, noodles of all sorts, bibimbap and starbucks later.
...
......
i am close to a thousand bucks poorer (HELP!!!!!!).
BUT, am very, very, happy from all the shopping (major contradiction. ha!).
***hun, i solemnly swear to no more shopping till.. well, for the next 2 months. or until Christmas-shopping starts. whichever comes first. heheee.
update: am having MAJOR problem trying to fit everything into my luggages. and to think i came only with 3/4 of a luggage full... and going back with 3 bags tomorrow!!
Bali - fOOd!!
Just realised i have entries on Bali that i've YET TO POST!!!
How can?!
-_-
Okokokokokokokokokokokok......
Some nom-noms.
Very briefly.
The simplest of dinners at some warung in Ubud:-
Yes, yes, very simple. Satay... nasi goreng... complimentary colourful shots of some juice-thingy.
But all very nice :)
Or maybe we were just plain hungry :p
One evening we walked almost 40minutes from our Cottage to Nuri's.
For their famed ribs!
And we had a healthy serving of greens to go along with all that meat of cos :p
Sedap!!!
Oh, lookie-here.
Things you'll most likely come across wandering around Ubud :) Hoooookays. Back to food in Ubud.
Bebek Bengil!
So many people had been telling me to "must go eat that dirty duck!!" that we die die went and ta-bao-ed it on our way out of Ubud. Hence, this pathetic shot of our duck. In alum' foil. Wtf.
Aiya... not enough time lah. We were rushing from one place to another :( But die die wanted to try the duck.
We made the driver wait in the car while we run in, ordered, then took piccies while waiting for our lunch to be packed.
There were reno works going on when we were there... business was obviously going on as usual. But given how noisy it was - what with the works going on along the road and the garden area - i'm kind of glad we didn't eat there this time.
Hopefully we'll go round again next time we're in Bali... and we get a nice table outside in the evening with birds (and crickets?!) doing their thing and cool breeze and candlelights and all that jazz :p ha!
Piccies the Boy took. #1
Piccies the Boy took. #2
Piccies the Boy wanted me to take. Heehee!
Piccies the Boy took. #3
Ok. This is random max! But here's the choc brownie-like cake the people from the Villa surprised us with, on the night of my birthday. So sweet :)
End entry on food in Bali.
Xi'an - all that i saw and experienced in 3 days.
Due to heavy rains, i was pretty much holed-up in the hotel most of the time.
Sigh.
My second trip to Xi'an.
Three full days there.
But all i saw was:
- the Bell Tower Hotel.
- the Bell Tower (which so happened to be right across the street of the Hotel).
(shot from my room. see the grey skies? and horrid traffic?)
- my agent's office.
- a couple of schools/ tuition centres.
- the Xianyang Intl Airport.
Every time the taxi went pass the City-gates, i thought to myself, "how cool if the weather permits, and i can go explore... climb the walls and walk around the City...".
Bah! Wishful thinking lor......
The skies there were grey. From air pollution i reckon.
Plus it rained. And rained. And rained.
With the rains came floods.
And then there was the horrible HORRIBLE traffic.
Cannot tahan.
I was browsing through some tourists mags and guidebooks while at the Hotel the other day.
Am convinced the countryside will be much MUCH better - clear skies, green pastures, fresh air :p
Maybe, just maybe, one day, i'll take time out to venture outside of the City.
With the Boy.
:)
Not without the Boy, most definitely.
We'll go here:
Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses
Cuihua Mountain National Geopark
I bet he'll like this place :)))
Huaqing Hot Spring
No where near the City i think. Haha!
Hoooookays... enough daydreaming.
Abrupt end.
***update: just remembered that i did manage to go, see, "conquer" 1/4 of the City-gates/walls. on the third evening. haha! took a quick 60-odd minute walk from south gate to the erm... west. i think. am convinced i want to do that rent-a-bicycle-and-ride-round-the-walls-like-any-tourist-would-do thingy :)
needs sleep.
Me.
I need sleep.
Roarrr.
Maybe its the peculiar shape of the hotel room I'm in.
Maybe its the bed - damn hard.
Maybe its the pillow - flat like wtf.
Maybe its the constant traffic outside - the roundabout that circles the Bell Tower.
Maybe its... the mega neon lights from the malls opposit the hotel.
Whatever it is, I'm not getting much sleep here.
Am just a tad bit grouchy now. What with having woken up every other hour last 2 nights. After having finally fallen asleep at 2-ish.
Argh.
It sucks to be here with no FB or blogger.
Unless I use the BB to surf.
Which, is what I'm doing now.
Expensive. But, no choice.
I feel the itch to write.
---
Day 4 here in BJ.
Alone.
Another 11 days to go.
Have been extremely bored.
Apart from working on the Mac in the hotel room, meetings, running out for Starbucks and to Wangfujing for a spot of quick shopping, I haven't been anywhere else.
The weather here is just bad. Awfully polluted.
If it were better - clean air, clear skies - I wouldn't mind going round the city and palace grounds on my own. But with this kind of surroundings?!
Sigh.
Sucks to be me.
---
He's been great though.
Keeping me company via msn.
He'll be there after brekkie in the morning... There when I get back from meetings in the evening...
Loves.
Fingers crossed the new job doesn't take him away toooooo long when he starts work with them.
Have gotten so used to seeing him every two wks (three max) in the last two mths.
Will definitely feel a huge empty void when he starts at the new place.
---
This is turning out to be such a sad, sad entry.
Moody max.
Shall squeeze in a spot of retail therapy at Qianmen this evening.
I need it.
:p
