lUx

it cost me a freaking 30 bucks to cab it home from work today
but i guess that's the price to pay for a little lux / comfort
at least i didn't have to put up with the horrible evening crowd on the train
can u imagine:
rush hour
packed like sardines on the train for 40-odd minutes
PLUS
it was storming like crazy in the evening
meaning most peeps were gonna be wet and stickaaaaay
UGH
yuckaaaaay
*gags*
yep
that 30 dollar cab ride home was worth it alright
no crowds
no smells
hurhurhur
i was warm comfy DRY :)
and the auntie driving the cab was hell fun to chat with
plenty of entertaining stories of lousy locals on public transport kept me laughing the whole ride home
:)))

Size MattErs???

in the battle of the Davids,
the 'bigger' Cook triumphed over 'little' Archuleta
:(((
i sOOOOOOoooooooooo cannot believe it!!!
Archuleta is sOooooooooooo impossibly boyish CUTE!
and when he sings...!
his voice! the emotions! the way he performs...
he really can REACH OUT to his audience...
and touch people with his music!!!
I LOVE HIM!!
i wanted him to win so bad :(
the sisters and i were rooting for him.
I IS TOO DEPRESSED!!!
ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

lOusY eNGLisH

damnit!!!

i really cannot stand SHITTY English.

i don't mean conversational singlish that inadvertently (or inevitably - depending on the person who speaks it o.O haha!) comes out when we speak with our fellow SG peeps.

i mean nonsense like:
"my favourites is..."
"i cherish every moments..."

oh and garbage like:
"people is..."

seriously, were these peeps NEVER taught grammar? vocab? sentence structures and whatnots??

i certainly don't pretend to be an expert in the language.
but to make mistakes like "he think" and "i never says"???

shitty i tell 'ya!!!

***BAD MOOD. pardon the language and harsh words used here. never one to sugar-coat my words neways***

***mY God lOveS Me***

"My God loves me.

His love will never end.

He rests within my heart

For my God loves me.

His gentle hand

He stretches over me.

Though storm-clouds threaten the day

He will set me free."

For some reason i've been thinking about this song all morning!!

Can't remember the name of the song.

This isn't even the complete song actually! I think i've only got half the song lyrics in my head :)))

I just know it's something i used to sing in Sunday School loooooooong time ago.

When we were still living in Subang and going to St. Francis Xavier!!

OMG!!! That's many many MANY moooooons ago O.o

Ah well, no matter.

I just keep hearing the melody and words of the song in my head today.

Lovely!

Warm, fuzzy feeling.

Haha!!

Have a Blessed Sunday ya' all!!

sOme daYs...

i just like to stay home all day...

sleep till 10 (yes 10AM. that, to me, is considered late because i'm normally always out of bed by 8. latest!)
laze around in comfy, old, very well-worn, over-sized pjs.
potter round the house.
kick back on the 'ol couch with a good book.
read till noon before i finally go wash up and whip-up lunch (it's tom-yum bee hoon today. slurp!!)

............

today's one of those days.
no plans at all.
zero.
zilch.
nil.
none.

i'm thinking the rest of the day will prolly be:-
catching up on more reading.
telly.
zzz??

my idea of a fab' day
:)))

M&M Cookies

Almond Angel Cake

Creamy Asparagus Soup

Warm Bacon & Mushroom Salad

Chilli Sardine Rolls

sNapsHotS of tHe tRiP - MeLB

MELBOURNE, VIC
the sister and i had the best time shopping!!
wOOOOOoooooooooo!
4 pairs of jeans.
work pants.
accessories.
shoes!!!!!!!!!!
the many many MANY tops :)))
hair products.
gifts for the kids.
accessories.
magazines.
candies.
makeup.
MORE accessories...!
fantastic!!!

oh yea well, of 'cos it wasn't JUST shopping.
we had lotsa coffee in between!
heeeeee!!

Oh, alright... we went places tOOOoooooo!
***the Library***
***exhausted from shopping maybe???***
***an afternoon spent at in the Gardens***
***Fed. Sq***
***Flinders Street Railway Station***

we were at the Melbourne Museum one afternoon...
***geez... look! i love comfy Birkenstocks so much i wear 'em even in winter. the peeps in Syd should know... i walk ard in my white/pink/blue/yellow birkenstocks all year round! best-est!!!***
we had dinner at The Pancake Parlour one evening... and while waiting, got bored and started taking random shots :p

we signed up for a trip to The Dandenongs

and went on Puffing Billy
:)))

we had fab' roast and wine...
went to Healesville Sanctuary...

fed the Kangaroos, watched the Koalas snooze, kept an eye out for the Taz Devil, searched for platypus...

no, we did NOT go on the Great Ocean Road this time round cos, we decided it was something we probably wanted to do only if we had a couple more days to self-drive down to; similar to want The Boy and i decided on last year when we were in Melb. - that to go on a one-day trip along the Great Ocean Road was so not worth it! makes much more sense to us to take our time and drive ourselves out there... stop wherever we want... spend as much time as we want to... :)

still, it was a good trip with Yuan.
***gorgeous scenic views like this... how to say the trip wasn't good huh?***

we were hoping for another sisterly getaway later this year - one with Dajie and Ting too... but seeing as the elder one may have problems getting away from the kids, and the youngest one having to do her 'O's year-end... :(
***LOVE***

well, we'll see.

tRaveL buG

have you caught it yet??
OMG.
in a short span of like, 2 days, 5 different grps of peeps asked me to go away on hols' with 'em!

Yuan leaves for Tioman next weekend!
i'm so so so so jealous!!!

ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

"YoU have sOmetHiNG frOm YoUr boYfrieNd..."

the text message came from Yuan last night while i was out with the girls.

Remember the Sabbath and Keep it Holy

***Last Sunday's Homily***

The Third Commandment.
One often overlooked as we turn our attention to keeping the rest of the Commandments Holy...

Last week's Homily served as a reminder of sorts:
We work six days a week, and we work hard.
But come Sunday, let it be a day of rest.
A day of rest for all - the parents, the sisters, the maid, myself!
It should be a day we devote to God.

Father Chua was so right to "lecture" us on how we make all sorts of plans on Sundays - movies, Yum Cha, music classes, arts classes, swimming classes and whatnots... all at the expense of time we should devote to God and the Church!
He spoke of parents who drop their kids off for Catechism, then go off for brekkie before coming back to pick up their kids and going off shopping;
He told of those who may physically be in Church, but mentally, spiritually...? They are at the beach, the shops, the office... anywhere but in Church.

For some reason, i can't stop thinking back on Father Chua's Homily for that week.
Guilt perhaps?
Guilty that i have 24 hours on Sundays, out of which i probably am awake a good half the time, yet there are days i wake up on Sundays and think to myself: maybe i should sleep-in today; skip Mass and go straight out to the shops with the girls...
Thankfully the family is always supportive and we make sure each other attends Service weekly.
Like the sis says, "the least we can do is devote an hour to God at Church every Sunday..."
to which i add, "... and be devoted wholeheartedly!"

No special reason for this entry really...
Just want it to serve as a reminder to myself i guess.

Remember the Sabbath and Keep it Holy.
Amen.
