miSsiNG mY 'Lil rOom.....

so i was in bed rather early last night with the mother of all headaches, trying desperately to fall asleep so as to (hopefully) block out the poundings in my head, when i stared out of my window into the night sky of Jurong; nothing romantic like star-lit skies... nOOOoooo... the only lights you see from my window would be those from the port and factories from beyond Teban area :p

and suddenly, SUDDENLY! i miss my room back in Harvard Court really badly... :(

that little room that's less than 1/2 the size of my bedroom here... that little room that could only fit a single bed, a teeny desk, a wardrobe, and everything else that i owned would have to go under the bed, stuffed into suitcases, or thrown carelessly over the 2 chairs in the room... that little room i called my own, where i hung colorful window curtains from Minitoons, plastered posters of JJ and Kwan Sang Woo on the walls, had random photos of family and friends all over the place, decked out with bits and pieces that 'Ling sent me over the past 18-20 months... that little room where i would stay holed up in for hours and hours at length when 'chasing K-dramas and Taiwan 偶像剧s', where i would shut myself out from the boys and the rest of the world when rushing assignments... that little room where friends like Fred, Wendy and Kyra who came over often, and i would talk nineteen-to-the-dozen for hours on end... that little room where i lie in bed each night looking out into the dark skies lit with stars (yes, that's how pretty the night skies are back there...) before falling asleep......

i miss you room :( the thought that i'll never get to live, breathe, eat, sleep in you again, even when i go back to Sydney... **sad-ed**

--- the room on my last day there, stripped of all posters, photos, curtains, bits and pieces; my colorful bedsheets washed and packed away, books and plushies stuffed in one of my many suitcases ---

--- "view" from my window at 8-ish in the evening during Summer ---

mEn witH nO MannErS

to YOU who lives on the 15th floor of BLK 124, JURONG EAST ST. 13

no matter how well-dressed and educated you look and act, to my mum and i, you will always be a lousy, selfish, 'no-manners' PIG!!!
you're not a child; you have no excuse not to know and practice courtesy.
you drive a big car (yes we saw you drive into the parking lot earlier), you live in a private estate, you dress well, you definitely did LOOK the part of a gentleman; but to enter a lift with 2 women whose arms were both laden with bags of groceries (and we're talking really OBVIOUSLY heavy bags of mandarins, canned food, detergent packs etc.) and not bother to even ask which floor we were going to, let alone help us "press the floor number"... YOU SELFISH PIG!!! and you had the cheek to stare at us while we shifted our bags from arm to arm just so we could find a free hand to reach for the button ourselves!

Gawd, i really hate being back here sometimes... people here are so rude! it's so obvious the Courtesy Campaigns and whatnots are just a waste of money on these people. they're incorrigible!!!

DaNieL, RupeRt and eMMa.

Been rewatching all the Harry Potter movies there is available right now; from The Sorcerer's Stone (2001) right up to The Order of The Phoenix (2007).
The sisters and i have been talking, and i can't decide which one i love best really...... each movie has it's beautiful parts... like in The Order of The Phoenix... i absolutely love the Wizard's Duel between Voldermort and Dumbledore at the Ministry of Magic. Love love LOVE it!!! The Order of The Phoenix - the book, wasn't the best. In fact, like how Yuan put it, it was boring! But the movie! I really like it lots :) The music composition is fab as usual. Nicholas Hooper did a fantastic job on the score composition. I'm sooooo looking forward to hearing his works on The Half-Blood Prince (2008) next!
There are bits of each movie that i love differently about really. Like in The Sorcerer's Stone where it all started... the introduction of each character into the movie was brilliant! When Harry goes "i'm a what???", when Hagrid tells him he's a wizard; his innocent face and eyes just go ***blink blink blink in disbelief*** .... and Hermione going "i'm going to go to bed. before either of you comes up with another clever idea to get us killed... or worst, expelled!"...... :)))) Rewatching the first movie really, really makes you see how impossibly bossy Hermione's character is!!! haha!
Going through all five movies in a span of a couple of days, you really get to see the difference in the actors and actresses... Daniel, Rupert and Emma are just growing up so amazingly quick, into young adults!!! and the ever-so-charming 'Weasley' twins - James and Oliver Phelps!! CHARMING!!!! Mum says even Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, is growing up to be "more and more handsome!!!". *rolls eyes at mum sitting across from me in the dining hall now*.
a couple of other characters i can't wait to see developed (at least i hope the movie adaptations don't playdown the roles of these people...) :-
Luna - Evanna Lynch - she's absolutely adorable!!! aloof yes... quirkiness is her... walks and talks like she has her head in the clouds, living in a world of her own... but i love her character!!! i do!!! brilliant really... how she is so frank and honest, to the point of being blunt... gentle... caring and thoughtful... forgiving......
Tonks - Natalia Tena - can't wait to see more of her fighting alongside the rest of The Order. absolute coolness!!! and i wonder how they plan to develop her 'love life' with Lupin!!! heeeee!!
anyways, i sOOOOOOOOoooo cannot wait for The Half-blood Prince... another 10 months before it comes onto the big screens in November '08!!! arrrrrrrrrrgh!!

the peeps:- Lynn, Jaime and myself
the place:- J.E. K-Box

we never get tired of hitting K-Box together for hoooooooooours.
we never get tired of hearing each other scream our lungs out.
we never get tired of cheesy photo-taking in the room when we're together.
we never get tired of Lynn coming up the most hilarious dance moves when we sing cheesy fast numbers like those from Jolin, The Grasshoppers......
we're used to Lynn coming up with random 'requests' like arm-wrestling.
we're used to 'fights' breaking out between us --- Lynn usually starts with the cheeks pinching. it then progresses on to full-on kicking and fist fights and whatnots. haha!
we're used to our "sha-ji" (kill chicken) moments when we try to sing to A*mei.
four hours straight last night!!!
fantastic!!
i think the service attendants were totally shocked at how 3 girls can scream soooooooo much in 1 evening. and so LOUD! (you could hear us 3 doors away; i tested ok?! myself standing 3 doors away along the corridor while Lynn started her 'singing-cum-screaming' in the room)

i love these 2 :)))

**cant wait for all the photos from Lynn. esp the ones with Lynn on top of poor Jaime. and Lynn sitting on top of meeeeeeee!!! and tickling my feet!!! Lynn you big bully! --- arbish *throws punch at u* ---

iNterVieWs!!!

oh how exciting!!!

to have been away from the working environment the past 2 years (almost)...

after 10 days of job hunting back here in SG, i've got a few interviews lined up this week!!

i should be nervous really.... i haven't gone into an interview for ages!!

the interviews for APEC 2007 Leader's Week doesn't count; that was waaaaaaaaaaay fun!!

and having been away from SG, i think i seriously lack information on local work laws, comp&ben issues etc... i've only got a VERY hazy idea on what to look out for, what to expect...

but!

that aside, no i'm not nervous :)))

i'm super excited actually!!!

i can't wait to start going for interviews and meeting different people again (although i hope i don't have to go through toooooooo many interviews before getting an offer of course....*fingers crossed*)

a part of me actually can't wait to get back into the workforce!!!

unbelievable!

and to think, barely 2 months back i was seriously considering applying for PhD.!!! o.O

You wore my heels without asking.
You wore my heels when you're about 2 shoe sizes bigger --- which means you were stretching the leather of my heels; i don't care if you thought the shoe fits.
You wore my heels, broke the heel, yet didn't bother to inform me about it, and you put them back into my shoebox and just WAIT for me to find out about the broken heel.
...
And after all that, you don't even feel the need to apologize???
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

iN LoviNG MemOrY...

of mY daRLinG whitE beAr
--- the 1st (and might i add: ONLY!!!) soft toy my parents ever gave me some 14 years ago for Christmas

--- my parents were never the kind of people who gave us soft toys... at least they never were with dajie, yuan and myself; with ting, it's a whoooooooole different story

--- when we were little, our Christmas, birthday and 'good girl!! you did well for your exams' pressies were (more often than not) books, stationeries, and more books (usually Enid Blyton hardcovers); with ting, she gets to PICK her pressies >__<
bags, lipglosses, earrings, more bags!!!

anyways, back to my darling white bear

--- as far as i can remember, the only other soft toy i've ever received from the parents was a little monkey the size of my hand; dajie had a rabbit and yuan had a dog... no prizes for guessing why we got what we got x.X

--- i think i was 6 or 7 yo then :)))

--- so this white bear is (officially) the one and only soft toy my parents ever gave me that's big enough to cuddle in bed

--- i've been keeping this darling clean and WHITE for the past 14 over years (just 'cos i really don't see my parents ever deciding to give me a soft toy EVER AGAIN, so... yea... for pretty obvious reasons, i wanted to hang on to it for as long as i can)

--- now that i'm back with enough junk to fill up ANOTHER bedroom (i wish!! oh how i wish i had another room of my own!!!), i've had to start some MAJOR spring cleaning... and that means... my darling, which sadly, is no longer clean and WHITE, has to go

--- on Sunday 13/1/08, my darling (along with, oh i don't know... 3? or was it 4? bags of my old dresses and tees) was packed and picked up by the good people of some charity group that comes round the Estate monthly to collect all that newspapers, books, electrical items and what-nots for the needy

bye-bye bear :(((

Late NiGhtS... EarLY mOrniNGs @.@

i'm soooooooooo tired...
no matter how hard i try to go to bed early the past few days, i wake up at all hours!!! 1am. 2am. 3am. 4am...... and by 6-ish, i'm WIDEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeee awake!
maybe it's from constant thoughts of all that packing and cleaning that has to be done by this weekend... you know, what has to be thrown, what to give-away, what to bring back, what to store at Shawn's till i come back (oh yes i'm coming back... at least, i think i'm coming back soon... i'm still undecided lah...... arrrrgh!!)
maybe i'm feeling torn between leaving and staying... if wrong decision how??
MAYBE...... i'm just excited about going hoooooooome!!

tHe staRt tO a New YeaR

it's an absolutely beautiful day today...
glorious sunshine outside...
the skies are a heavenly blue with not a single cloud in sight...
last check, it was about 26degrees...
i'm sitting in my room with the window shades drawn-back and my windows open...
there's a constant gentle breeze of cool air coming into the room...
i'm taking a minute now to sit back and relax with my icy-green bean soup (homemade of course) and a couple of old taiwanese "teen-idol"-like dramas (换换爱)...
my last week here in this cosy little place i've called home this last semester...
having just counted down to a brand new year less than 24 hours ago, i'm now counting down to the day i head back to SG.
can't help feeling excited at the thought of going back home; home home you know what i mean? yet... i'm also beginning to feel 'homesick' for this home of my own here... how weird eh??

HAPPY 2008

... and so a new year begins.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the fireworks started going off 5minutes ago.
i can see and hear them from where i'm sitting right now in my room, by the window.
it's going to go on for another 10minutes or so... but i'm not going to keep staring out the window at it!!! =P
i'm going to bed.
G'Night 'ya all!
Happy New Year!!!
