Wedding-Related: Shoe-shopping Part 1.

Why Part 1? Heehee... because i know there's gonna be MORE to come :)))

Now i know we've got another year to go before the Wedding, and the shoe(s)-shopping normally comes AFTER i've got my gowns picked out, BUT I HAVE BEEN DYING TO CHECK OUT THE LOVELIES FEATURED HERE SINCE I SAW 'EM!!!

Jayne and i had been flipping thru' the magazine together the other evening and i remember us oOh-ing and aAAh-ing over the same (almost anyways. hee!) beauties.
So i felt it only right that she got tasked to go shoe-shop with me.
Haha! Sounds like a chore huh?
But i'm sure it wasn't right?! We had fun =P

1 arvo.
2.5 hrs.
4 shopping malls.
hmm... i lost count the number of shops we actually went into......
Here's some of the lovely heels we checked-out :)

*Fuschia is everywhere!!! I especially like the pair from Nine West - Strappy with diamante. S$170.

*Also from Nine West - Peep-toe with diamante. S$215. Lovely! If only an inch or two higher =P

*Pink beauties! Ok, i know they don't look pink here, but they are PINK. The peep-toed ones from Robinsons are cute! Only S$85!

*Didn't get to see/ try this one. From Essex Walk. Peep-toe with frills. S$455!!! Heart pain. BUT SO PRETTY/ ELEGANT!!!
Nine West had a pair pretty similar to this. But the frills don't go round the back... goes round the front instead. And they were kind of a creamy, off-white. If they were like, WHITE white, i think i might have bought them already =P Were very comfy! S$205.

*Saw this at Tang+Co. S$169. We thought it (the flower) looked like a bug/ beetle. Heehee! Just imagine you dot a pair of eyes onto the flower.

*Now, these!!! One of my FAV so far. Caparros peep-toe with diamante, from Tang+Co. S$189.
Love that it's a gorgeous white coloured and is elegantly simple with diamantes that are not in any way, OTT. They are comfy and wearable too! Not one of those pairs i'll wear for one occassion, and never find a suitable function to wear 'em to again. Hee!

Have KIV-ed these, and a pair of lovely strappy heels from Lewre.
No pictures of the pair from Lewre.
But go see what else they have here.
NICE!!!
Oh, and there were those red strappy heels at Tangs. So very nice tOOOOOOoooooooo!!!
Argh!
Wants to buy everything!
HELP.........!!!
o.O

Bali - The Bali Dream Villa, Seminyak - The 1 Bedroom Villa

this is the final entry on Bali! serious. promise. =PPP
before i move on, check this out!
Honeymoon Package @ The Bali Dream Villa
maybe i should persuade him we need a teeny weeny meeny break away after ROM? we could... head back to Bali... to where he propsed? haha!
ladies and gentlemen... i present to you now... the place where The Proposal took place...... *drumroll...........
#211 @ The Bali Dream Villa
*cues mad happy shrieking and squealing.
lookie here! the plunge pool with icy-cold water -_- brrrrrrrrrrr.............
the open-air shower area *lurrrrrrrrrves.
and pretty lil things/ corners round the villa.
we had a lovely four-poster bed in the air-conditioned room (i have somehow lost the photos of our bed. wtf.) and spent our last night in Bali there, away from the crowds, taking lots of silly photos together while we waited for the match (World Cup season, remember?) to start.
ok enough piccies already!!
i is wants to read.
please, DO NOT DISTURB =P

Bali - The Bali Dream Villa, Seminyak - The 3 Bedroom Villa

omg i cannot believe i am still on the Bali entries.
okokok, here goes:
while in Seminyak, we stayed at the lovely Bali Dream Villa.
i did kind of twisted his arm a little to get my way with this place.
had read some very (+)ve reviews about their 1-bedroom private pool villas and had been pretty insistent about checking-in here for a couple of nights.
heehee!
so.
we checked-in on the 20th and for that first night, we were upgraded to a 3-bedroom villa! wOOohOOoooo!!! whether it was really because it was overbooked in the 1-bedroom category, or because it was my birthday, we'll never know now huh?
but the villa was cOOoooool!!!
see, see, see?
so inviting rrrrrright???
we spent the whole arvo here till it was time to leave for dinner in town.
when we came back that night, the peeps at the Villa delivered the choc cake to us, coming in through the front door singing Happy Birthday, with the cake, candles and all. *shy
then the next morning, brekkies was delivered to and set-up for us in our open-concept dining hall.
we then spent the entire morning in the pool... just us 2 :) until it was time to move over to our cosy 1-bedroom villa.
ah... lovely.
happy just thinking back on the morning spent with him.

Wedding-Related: ROM-moon

Sigh.
For awhile, i was really looking forward to doing a ROM-moon after our ROM (obviously. duh!), followed by the actual Honeymoon after the Church and Customary next year-end.
We had even discussed options and settled for:
Taiwan [by rail]. Wheeeeeeee!!! For ROM-moon.
Greece in the Summer of 2012 (about 6 months after everything is over in Nov 2011).
However, having thought through our finances......
It pains me to even write this down :( but i told the Boy the other day that we should probably save that (estimated) 4K we would have to spend on that Taiwan trip, and put that money to better use.
Argh!
Can't believe i not-so-willingly-but-really-no-choice-what-to-do-wtf said that to him.
And he agreed.
So... end of story.
No ROM-moon.
*Cries.

Anger.
Hurt.
Disappointment.
Sadness.
Worry.
Despise.

How can anyone feel so many different negative emotions at one time?
Needs a shoulder to cry on.
Wants a good cry.

Wedding-Related: The Proposal

45days to ROM!!!
omgomgomgomgomgomgomg!!!
can hardly believe it actually.
feels like it was just yesterday (ok maybe not yesterday... but definitely doesn't feel like it has been 4 months since) that he popped the question.
*shy.
have i or have i not talked about The Proposal yet, huh?
*blushing like mad.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
June 22, 2010.
2 days after my birthday.
day 5 into our holiday @ Bali.
our 13th month-sary.
his story:
the plan was that he'll wake up before i do, slip the bling onto my finger, then wake me up and "take advantage of my early-morning-just-wakeup-still-sibei-blur state" to ask me to marry him =PPP sounds easy huh?
how it actually happened/ my story:
i woke up earlier than he expected (what! i always wakeup early ok.) and was just reaching over to his side of the bed for a cuddle when i realised... HE WASN'T THERE!!!
thought he might be out in the lovely garden of the villa we were staying at, but a quick check outside showed no sign of him!
panicked.
thought i heard something/someone at the back of the villa.
turned round just as he came through the backdoor with camera in one hand (and the ring in the other. although at that point of time, all i saw was the camera and it made me go, "wtf! why are you pointing a camera in my face this early in the morning? what?! is it on vid-recording mode?!?!").
i vaguely remember him asking me if i can see what's in his hand and all i kept thinking was, "it's a blardy camera! you have a camera in my face at 7plus, barely 8(!!) in the morning."
i was making a whole lot of whines and cries O_o
and i was trying to hide my face from the blardy thing the whole time =P
he figured it wasn't working... i was waaaaay too annoyed with the camera in my face i didn't notice what was in his other hand. hurhurhur.
so he chucked it aside and brought the ring up to, like, my eye-level =PPP and asked me (very nicely. heehee!) to marry him.
what followed next was a whole lot of shrieking (with joy!) and more cries (this time, because i was mad happy!).
hahahaha!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"did you cry when he asked you to marry him?"
alot of you asked me that when i first came back to SG after that week in Bali.
nope, i didn't.
i laughed.
ALOT!
so did he i think =)
why?
because we were happy!!
I WAS HAPPY!!
I AM HAPPY =)))
and did i make him say a whole lot of cheesy "i love you and i promise to do this/ that (insert heaps of random stuff to do/buy etc etc) if you'll be my wife......" and waited forever before saying YES?
nahhh.
no need to!
i knew i was going to say yes... why make him wait?
so, yup.
he asked. i said YES!
no candlelight dinner, flowers, sunset, fireworks... nothing of that sort.
just us two.
in that lovely villa.
on that glorious, beautiful morning.
=)

"Cirque du Soleil Presents KÀ Extreme"

This is currently available for viewing on SQ flights and i watched it the other day while coming back from Seoul.

To quote the description of the programme (on Krisworld),
"KA Extreme gives a unique insight into the artistic and technical challenges faced by the talented performers and production team of the gravity defying theatrical production KA".

Check out the trailer of the Show!

I think it's AMAZING!!! Both the Show itself, and KA Extreme (can't find any trailers or videos anywhere now, sorry!).

KA Extreme was really, really insightful!
They interviewed the brilliant people behind the Show, like, Mark Fisher, Jacques Heim, Robert Lepage... [read all about the Creators here].
They showed how the idea for KA was first conceptualised... the AMAZING STAGE - platform that rotates!!! how each performer makes his/her entrance and exit... the safety percautions that have to be in place... the built-in speakers in each and every seat for the audience!!!
Omg, it's all brilliant! I so, so, SO want to experience it all in person after having watched KA Extreme.

The music! Omg have you heard any of it yet?

The Show itself, i have yet to see it.

Been youtube-ing for scenes from the Show at every chance i have the past few days :p

There's heaps of Asian influence in this one i feel. The martial arts, the music, the costumes...

Watch these. Listen to the music too!!!

I REALLY REALLY WANT TO WATCH THIS!!!
HUN, ARE YOU READING THIS? I WANT TO WATCH KA, LIVE!!! AT MGM GRAND. IN LAS VEGAS!! IN THE US of A!! BEFORE I DIE :p

Wedding-Related: Wedding Bands

I think we've been really blessed in shopping for our Wedding Bands.
Really.
I read through threads after threads in forums about how difficult it is for a lot of couples to find their Bands.
I've also heard from friends, their own experiences in shopping for that special pair of rings.
Most of them say it took ages!
The designs weren't to their liking... the price wasn't right... the couple couldn't find a pair they BOTH liked...... these were the common reasons they found it difficult to get theirs'.
The Boy and i are pretty lucky we both knew (and agreed on!! very important!) what we wanted:-
Something simple...
Something matte...
Something that doesn't show scratches easily... not those with glossy/ shiny surfaces...
Something classic...
Something in White Gold...
Something to wear for life...
:)
Knowing fully well the limited time we have together in the same place, we went for our first round of Wedding Band shopping in early July - the weekend he came to keep me company after i returned from the 10 day work trip to SL.
We're not your rich, flashy, extravagant couple, so right from the start, when we got down to making plans for our Wedding, we had worked out a budget for our ROM (the Bands fall into our ROM budget).
That first evening Wedding Band shopping, we went to couple of places we felt were within our budget. Places we were comfortable with.
- SK
- LeeHwa
Prior to that weekend, we had gone into SooKee, Goldheart and Love & Co. just to look-see. Was not impressed.
A long time ago, i was once very much 'in-love' with the Cherish Bands from Poh Heng.
I had also once toyed with the idea of having custom-made Bands.
Didn't consider these options once we had our budgets set though.
Hey, we've got to look at the bigger picture right? The Bands, nice as they are, are symbols of our togetherness, as a couple. But ultimately what matters is that our hearts (and minds) are in the right place - with and for each other.
I don't need a pair of rings that'll cost us a half a month's salary to show i'm "Kin Mun's Theresa".

So.

We left both shops with our fav. in our head but the pair we both couldn't stop thinking about, were the ones from LeeHwa. However, being the sensible guy that he is, the Boy decided he'll go look-see the jewellers in KL when he returned home.
The next weekend, there i was, in KL for some family thingy.
We went to the places he had gone ahead to check out... did some price comparisons... fretted over the lack of designs and options available there for all of, 2 days maybe? And then the following weekend, there we were, both in SG again, in LeeHwa, picking out that pair we both couldn't get over :) And to help us make our decision on this purchase, God even threw in a huge discount for us. Haha! That's what i like to think lah :p
We got our Bands at 50% off the usual price, because it was the LAST DAY of GSS 2010! And i didn't even remember it was GSS still. How cool was that huh?!

So, yup.
Within a month - three weeks from the first evening we got down to shopping for 'em, the Boy and i had one item striked off our to-do list for ROM.
Whew.
One down, many many more to go? :p

Wedding-Related: Bridal magazines

Here's to the start of a new "series" of Wedding-related entries :)

I have a confession to make: before the Boy actually proposed, i was already buying and poring over bridal mags. :p
To be very honest, it started maybe a year ago. When i would pick up bridal mags for eLin. In preparation for the gf's Big Day, and to fulfil my role as jie-mei and "PA to the Bride" well, i would pick up those mags for the girl, flip through them, religiously taking note of what to update her on dinner venues etc.
Then, about halfway through it all, i started daydreaming of MY OWN WEDDING. Like seriously daydreaming about it :p
I flipped through those mags so often, you would have mistaken ME to have been the bride then. Haha.
Funny thing was, i never felt the need to hide the fact that i was reading those bridal magazines from him. Never had to. In fact, he very often pored through them with me :) He still does this with me now. Heehee! Only difference then and now, was that back then he probably thought i was flipping through entirely for the gf's sake. Now, it's all about me and us. Ha!
But i have these mags to thank leh!
It was with these mags. chock-full of models in gorgeous wedding gowns, evening gowns, banquet hall reviews and flowers etc. that i could easily point and go "oOOOOh! i like this!"... "that's pretty!!"... "next time, i'm not having this or that." with the Boy.
Perhaps it is because of this (my never bothering to hide from him my not-so-secret wish to be married to him), and our bonding over the bridal mags for eLin's sake, that he knew exactly when, how and with which rock (woohooo!!!) to propose. Haha!
Loves.
