from the diaries of a young couple house-hunting ~~ part 1

So.
Over the weekend, we did something NEW, something FRESH, something EXCITING =PPP
It wasn't planned or anything.
We woke up fairly early Saturday morning... was just lazing in bed, very reluctant to get out (of bed)......
"What shall we do today?"
"Get up (blah blah blah)... get dressed (blah blah blah)... have brekkie (blah blah blah)... go view some flats... "
Woah!!!
There!
HE said it!
So casually!!!
A few "serious?" "sure or not?" "want? don't want?" and a string of sms-es later, we were set to meet Eric for some hdb flat viewing.
I TELL YOU!!! IT WAS SO EXCITING!!!
Tsktsktsk. I am quite sua-ku like that =P Go and view flats also macam huge adventure.
Anyways...
Good friends and family will know the headache the Boy and i face when thinking of getting our own place, primarily eligibility issues: nationality... age... blah blah blah......
We've discussed at length the (limited) options we have, and are now pretty sure we want:
- To get a resale;
- A relatively small-ish place (no more than 3 bedrooms thank you very much. who's gonna have the time to keep a big place clean and tidy if we both keep to our current jobs and spend half the time outstation?);
- A neighbourhood that's not too matured (errm... Bt. Merah??) or crowded (argh!!! Tampines!);
- To be near mummy and daddy!!! (That means NO Bedok, Pasir Ris, Yishun, Woodlands... NO WAY!);
- Accessibility!!! Walking distance to either the trains or buses... give us a neighbourhood Mall or town centre......
Easy, no? Ha.
Getting a resale means a whole load of other things we have to consider, the biggest two being:
- Reno.
- CASH $$$
*mega MEGA sigh
We COULD get a new hdb flat but it would take agessssssss before it happens =( what with having to wait till after ROM, PR applications, BTO blah blahs......
Ah well, we'll get there... with lots of faith, love and support from our nearest and dearest.
Back to Saturday.
We went to look-see two units in Bt. Panjang:
First stop -
Blk 178 #10
4-room, corridor unit.
90sqm.
Valuation 370K asking for 75K cash.
Old-ish (9 years).
MUST factor in reno for whole place. That means another 25K (easily). Ugh. Let's not even think about furnishing yet. =P
Am not happy the Masterbed Room is so freaking small. And odd (shaped).
Second stop:
Blk 176 #16
4-room corridor unit
101sqm.
Valuation 405K asking for 45K cash.
Relatively new(er).
Reno minimal but toilets and kitchen are MUST-DOs =P
Am not too excited about how the kitchen is not square/ rectangular in shape =( more like... triangular! *roll eyes. How to fit my dream kitchen in leh??
I should have taken pictures *stupid, silly, forgetful me.
Nevermind. Next time i will. I reckon it's gonna be quite a while before we see something we like. Hurhur.
So, yup! We went to view hdb flats for the first time! Together! I previously went with the parents cos the Boy wasn't around so that doesn't count.
Exciting MAX!!! Can't wait to go look-see mmmmmmooooorrrrrrreeeeeeeee places the next time he's in SG ^^
Cheers! To more house-hunting adventures =)

Ba is my "shoe consultant" these days :)))
Ever sine the sister started leaving the house earlier for work, he has been the one who stands at the door watching me try on every other pair of heels, flats, boots, sneakers, sandals I own, going "ugh. No" "this one ok" "this color??" Until we decide on the final pair I end up walking away with.
*giggles
Mad love for the old man ^^

You know those couples you see on the trains and public areas...
Those disgustingly touchy-feely, can't keep their hands off each other, die-die must kiss-kiss everywhere, empty train also must be glued together boob to chest that kind?
Ever noticed these are more often than not, the NOT good-looking couples?
You know you know?
Like, pimply, fat, horribly dressed, geeky... That kind la. You'll know the kind I'm sure. NOT the average good-lookng couple la.
Why huh?
So pathetic.
Maybe they finally got partner liao so must show the world, ugly also got bf! Weeeeee!
Hurhurhur.
Bitchaaaaaaaaaaay :p

Random bitchness max.

Just sitting here, waiting for the darling Boy, people-watching... VERY entertaining. *sniggers.

choices, choices...

spent 20minutes at the door this morning trying to decide between the 3-inch black heels, pointed black flats, bright blue heels or Mary Janes.

the old man was laughing at me the whole time =P

Red and yellow and
Pink and Green

Listen with your eyes

My friends who are still there...
The countryside, the beaches...

what to wear... what to wear...

Time-off from work after the KL - PNG worktrip gave me plenty of time to tidy up my wardrobe and shoeboxes yesterday.
Not that I succeeded very much in clearly out the clutter and all...
But I did manage to make some decisions on what to wear for ROM this November :)
*The relatively new (only worn once for half a day) dress - black with shades of purples.
*The lovely black satin heels from Sydney (the same ones I bought for convo in 2008).
I figured there wasn't any real need to buy a new dress and a pair of new heels just for that 5 -10 minutes at ROM.
Not when the dress is so new and I have so many pairs of heels I hardly wore these particular ones the last 2 years.
Plus, everything fits perfectly.
So why spend so much time and money shopping?
Omg did I just say that?!?!?!
Girls!! Is this really ME talking?!?! Arghhhhhh!
But seriously though, I'm not kidding.
I've decided that 300 - 400 bucks we budgeted earlier on for my ROM dress/heels/accessories can be better spent elsewhere.
Like savings towards that next holiday hun? Heehee :)

we had a pretty heated discussion the other day about him having smoked more than a couple of ciggies in the past...
i've never actually seen him with that nasty thing wedged between his fingers, but just the very thought of it... UGH!!! NOT A NICE SIGHT!
he swears he has never picked up ciggies on his own and that the past few puffs were always the result of 'em nasties being passed around during get-togethers with his friends.
WTFWTFWTFWTF!!!
damn you, so-called friends. DAMN YOU!
if you ever offer him another one of those nasty sticks, don't blame me for cursing you and your gf/wife/kid/mother/father/sister/brother.
and if YOU ever give in to those friends, i'm going give YOU hell!!

***to my girls who smoke... sigh... i wish you wouldn't. you know i love you for who you are but still... i wish you'll kick the habit :(

Bali - Dreamland Beach

I reckon this was one of the best afternoons we had in Bali :)

~Dreamland Beach~
Sun, Sand, Sea...

Us (and a beachful of peeps)...

I made The Boy do the jump =P
He's so cute.
Says he hasn't done this before.
Till now.
Pfft!

The waves at Dreamland were super strong.
I'm no fan of swimming in open waters so i pretty much stayed on the beach 'blowing bubbles'
Ha!

Wants to go back to our Holiday days :(

So jealous of the sister who's heading for Bali mid-Oct.

Pooh!!!
